Meadows Row

A one-arm row off the end of a landmine, taken from a staggered stance. The angle of the bar gives a longer stretch at the bottom than a dumbbell allows.

How to Perform
  1. 1

Wedge one end of a barbell into a landmine or a corner and load the other end.

  2. 2

Stand side-on to the loaded end in a staggered stance, hinge forward, and brace your free hand on your front thigh.

  3. 3

Grip the end of the bar with an overhand grip and let it hang, allowing your shoulder blade to travel forward.

  4. 4

Pull the bar up and back toward your hip, driving the elbow high, then lower under control.

Tips
  • Let the shoulder blade round forward at the bottom - that stretch is the whole reason to pick this over a dumbbell row.
  • Keep your hips square. Twisting toward the bar turns it into a torso rotation.
